Having reached the peak of his profession in leading this major business John decided to move on in 2000 to concentrate some of his energies in the charity sector in helpingchurches and schools with building matters, encouraging childrens’ work and orphanages in Kenya, as well as running his own boutique construction consultancy.
John is an expert in cost management techniques for construction projects, non-traditional methods of contracting, extracting value solutions from designers and contractors, and finding the way forward when problems occur.
With an ability to develop excellent client relationships and communicate, often complex, matters in a straightforward manner, John's clients see his ability to find solutions to their problems as a key strength.
With a keen interest in helping people learn new skills John is a regular guest lecturer on Strategic Briefing at University College London to post graduate courses.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Fellow of the Institute of Continuing Professional Development.
Developing ideas for thought leadership for CEOs John visited Professor Jim Collins at Boulder University , Colorado, USA in 2001 to understand 'Turning Good Companies into Great companies'!

Guest lecturer at University College London , School of Architecture, Masters students on Strategic Perspectives in Construction and has lectured at Southampton Solent University to architectural students, interior designers and built environment industry students on project management and understanding corporate organisations.
John is a Justice of the Peace and sits in the Court in Hampshire at Lyndhurst as a Magistrate.
